The 6-foot guard from Kansas made his BBL debut with the Cheshire Phoenix back in January 2016 before spending the 2016-17 season in Surrey where he averaged 15.8 points, 3.4 boards and 1.5 steals per game.

Tyler represented both the UAB Blazers and Longwood Lancers in the NCAA in College before going pro at 24. In his final year in college, the guard averaged 17.23 points, 2.97 boards and 1.29 steals per game.

Taylor has demonstrated himself to be a great scorer in the BBL, bagging 802 points in 52 games, as well as scoring game winners for both the Surrey and Cheshire outfits.

Taylor is the seconding signing of the season for Creon Raftopoulos’ side joining club captain Tayo Ogedengbe and will be looking to take the Scorchers back to the BBL playoffs.

Scorchers fan support was rightly praised by Taylor on announcing his signing. “I can’t wait to play at Surrey Sports Park in front of the Scorchers fans again, they showed us such great support throughout the entire season,”

The Scorchers kick off their season at home to the Glasgow Rocks on 22nd September.
